A reminder that prom table sign up is next week at lunch starting on Tuesday. The prom tables are groups of 10.
Please congratulate the Yale Girls Rugby Team on an incredible season and their BC Championship victory. The Lions defeated Shawnigan Lake School 36–3 in the provincial final to cap off an undefeated season and bring home the provincial championship banner — Yale Girls Rugby’s third banner in the last five years. Tries were scored by Alicia Kraft, Ireland McDowell, Sylvanah Belsham, Emma Jollymore, Wendy Huynh, and Claudia Vallance, while Summer Rozell added three conversions. Claudia Vallance was named a BC Championship all-star, and Amber Vallance had a huge final game with numerous hard runs and a dominant defensive performance. On their road to the title, Yale defeated Carson Graham in the quarterfinal and DW Poppy Rugby Academy in the semifinal. The team’s season highlights also included winning the Yale Girls Invitational Sevens Tournament, winning the Moncton tournament where they defeated the New Brunswick provincial champions 80–0, and capturing the Eastern Fraser Valley Banner.
