Career Development

Our students will succeed in a much different future from the one we envisioned 10 or 15 years ago. It is our responsibility to prepare all children for success in whatever life path they choose, connecting learning opportunities with future career possibilities. We know that real-life experiences - like community involvement, gaining business knowledge, and hands-on-learning - build better students and life-long citizens.

Goals

  • Improve core competencies so students can achieve career/life goals.
  • Improve graduation rates.

The Electrical program is offered at UFV Trades & Technology Centre in Chilliwack and allows students to maximize opportunities for future career development as an electrician while still in high school. The program is designed to provide students with the knowledge, skills, and practical training required to pursue a career as an electrician. The program combines classroom instruction with hands-on training to prepare students for entry-level positions in the electrical trade.Gabriella Neufeld joined our District's Electrical program and soon found that she excelled in the field. We are proud of Gabriella who won the provincial gold medal in Electrical and represented BC at National Skills in Winnipeg.
