The Electrician Career Program is a District Program in the Abbotsford School District. The Electrical program is offered at UFV Trades & Technology Centre in Chilliwack and allows students to maximize opportunities for future career development as an electrician while still in high school. The program is designed to provide students with the knowledge, skills, and practical training required to pursue a career as an electrician. The program combines classroom instruction with hands-on training to prepare students for entry-level positions in the electrical trade.Gabriella Neufeld joined our District's Electrical program and soon found that she excelled in the field. We are proud of Gabriella who won the provincial gold medal in Electrical and represented BC at National Skills in Winnipeg.

Upon completion, students earn their Level 1 in HEO. Matthew created his own learning journey and has found passion along the way writing his own story.

Yale Students in Carpentry

Four of our students, Jonathon, Ian, Makenna, and Ciera recieved their Level 1 in our District's Carpentry program. Giving them a headstart into a trade, or giving them some basics for handyman projects around the home. The hands-on nature of the carpentry program has enhanced their teamwork and communication skills, as they collaborate on projects, sharing ideas and responsibilities. Moreover, by learning the practical application of mathematical concepts in measurements and design, these students have strengthened their mathematical skills in a real-world context. Overall, the carpentry program has not only equipped these students with tangible carpentry skills but has also instilled in them a set of transferable skills that will undoubtedly contribute to their overall academic success and personal development.
