Yale Secondary Career Program of the week: Welding Foundation

Welding Foundation

The SD 34 Welding Foundation certificate program — previously known as Welding Level C — offers you the best basic training for entry-level employment in a broad variety of welding and steel fabrication. You get layout and fabrication experience by completing hands-on exercises and projects, using top-of-the line welding equipment.

Sample topics include:

Oxyfuel Gas Cutting (OFC)
Gas welding and braze welding
Shielded metal arc welding (SMAW #1)
Air carbon arc gouging (AAG)
Gas Metal Arc Welding  (GMAW #1)
Flux cored arc welding  (FCAW #1)
Material Handling
Blueprint Reading
Mathematics Welding Metallurgy

After you complete your Welding Foundation certificate successfully, you can earn your Red Seal by completing Welding Level B and Welding Level A at UFV or other post secondary institutions
